Always have a link for people to easily unsubscribe or opt out of your email list. Don’t fail to provide an unsubscribe link and don’t bury it so deep in the text that it cannot be found. People should feel like they have a choice and they are not forced to view your emails.

Use feedback, that is both active and passive, to improve your marketing campaigns. Readers should be asked to provide suggestions and opinions when offering active feedback. Passive feedback is very subtle and may not even be obvious to your customers. Look at the links and images that are getting the most clicks.

Do not restrict yourself just to email marketing. As you identify your core clientele that trusts you, see if you can get phone numbers and physical addresses. Build on your relationships by expanding your communications with your loyal core base by contacting them through these mediums as well as email.

Make it clear on your email sign-up form what the reader will get by submitting their information. Inform your subscribers about the kinds of emails that will be sent, along with the frequency of the emails. This prevents new subscribers from experiencing shock over the content or quality of your emails.
