These can include blog posts, social networking sites, sweepstakes, or anything else you choose. Just make sure not to overdo it by spamming them.

Treat your customers like people. Instead of just bombarding them with sales information constantly, consider messaging them occasionally with relevant information to their everyday lives. If you find an interesting blog on saving money, for example, send them a link. This lets them know you are not just considering them to be a source of income for you.

Never copy someone else’s mobile strategy. Just because they may be doing well does not mean it is the right method for you. Customers like innovation, and if you are sending out similar messages or styles as your competitor, they may not be interested in making a change to you.

This will help build awareness of the opportunity, position your brand as a forward thinker in terms of technology, and drive traffic to the new mobile page.

You should use A/B testing while developing your mobile page. Testing is as essential to the mobile world as it is on traditional websites because this lets you see what works. Try to develop an A & B version in your landing page, this can help you see what does and doesn’t work with the variations you make. Then when you find what works, add that to your end game strategies.

Remember to link properly when using mobile devices. Do not link to your home website, link to the mobile version of your website so that your customers can get the entire picture. If you do not have a mobile version, you really need to get to work on it and have one for the mobile users.

Make sure your ad is compatible with every type of handset. To ensure you don’t lose your professional reputation, you must make sure that users of all types of mobile phone can interact with your ad campaign. If you distribute a mobile ad that does not display on certain platforms, brings up error messages or even worse crashes the user’s cell phone, you are unlikely to attract any potential buyers to your company.

Do not limit your mobile marketing to a mobile website. These websites must remain relatively small and do not allow you to do much. Take advantage of the efforts social networks do to provide people with apps: send your customers a lin to your Facebook page or to your Twitter feed.

Don’t concentrate so much on finding the time and the budget for social media. Focus instead on the integration of mobile marketing and social media into your business. You may be surprised to find out the things that you are currently unable to do because you are not yet mobile-marketing friendly. Concentrate on leveraging what you can.

Don’t mix the purpose of emails and texts. You can use text messages to reconfirm information included in an email you sent earlier. It is acceptable to send a text reminding your customers 5 minutes before your store sales starts, but don’t send the two week advance notice as a text message.
